Colonia, Yap. October 16, 2014 – On October 4, 2014, the 18th FSM Congress adjourned sine die its 5th Regular Session after having conducted business for 20 days. Having a number of pending issues yet to be resolved, and having no other scheduled Regular Session prior to the end of the calendar year, Congress, on October 2nd, adopted Congressional Resolution 18-219 CD1, which calls on the Speaker to call for a Special Session starting in November for ten days, subject to the poll of all Members.
On October 16, 2014, the Chief Clerk of 18th FSM Congress, polled the Members for the convening of the 5th Special Session of the 18th FSM Congress on the 17th to the 26th of November 2014. This is pursuant to Section 2 of Rule 1 of the FSM Congress Rules of Procedure.
Should the Members opt to have the 5th Special Session on the dates prescribed, this Special Session might be the last Session for the 18th FSM Congress for this 2014 calendar year, with one more scheduled Regular Session in January 2015 before the March 2015 National general election for Members of Congress.
